Zepbound (tirzepatide) is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or overweight with at least one weight-related condition, alongside diet and activity.
Zepbound is tirzepatide, which activates two receptors — GLP-1 and GIP — rather than one. The combination amplifies fullness signalling and improves how the body handles glucose. As the manufacturer's finished pen, dosing is verified under FDA oversight.

- Type 1 diabetes, gastroparesis, or an active eating disorder without in-person care

Important safety information
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation are the common ones, typically around dose increases. Serious but uncommon risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder disease; the class boxed warning covers thyroid C-cell tumors seen in rodents.
