Treatments

What your provider may prescribe

May — not will. These are the medication classes our providers work with in weight loss. Which of them is appropriate, if any, is a clinical decision made after reviewing your health.

Prescription — daily oral

Metformin

A long-established metabolic medication, FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and prescribed off-label for weight at a provider's discretion. Non-controlled, inexpensive, and well understood.

Safety, stated up front

  • Not prescribed with significant kidney impairment
  • Requires review of your current medications
  • Prescribing it for weight is an off-label use — your provider will explain what that means

Prescription — daily oral pairing

Bupropion + naltrexone

Two long-established generics that act on appetite and craving through different routes. A provider decides whether the pairing is appropriate, and reviews it against everything else you take.

Safety, stated up front

  • Not prescribed with a seizure disorder, or with current opioid use
  • Not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding
  • Requires review of any antidepressant you are currently taking

Complete safety information for any medication is provided during your visit and with every prescription. Your provider walks through side effects and interactions before anything is prescribed.

Pricing, before you start

Sample pricing

Most telehealth sites make you finish the quiz before showing a number. We think that's backwards. The figures below are market-typical illustrations while our final catalog is completed — they are not offers.

Every price includes provider review and ongoing care. Medication is included only if prescribed — and you'll always see your exact total before paying anything.

The mechanism

How GLP-1 medication works

It isn't a stimulant and it isn't a diet pill. It's a long-acting copy of a hormone your own gut releases after a meal.

  1. 1

    A hormone you already make

After you eat, your intestine releases GLP-1 — a hormone that signals fullness to the brain and helps regulate insulin. It breaks down within minutes.

  2. 2

    The same signal, extended

GLP-1 medications are engineered to resemble that hormone but resist the enzyme that clears it, so the fullness signal keeps arriving between meals rather than fading.

  3. 3

    The stomach empties more slowly

Food stays put longer, so smaller meals feel satisfying. This is the same mechanism behind nausea — the most common side effect, and the reason it exists.

  4. 4

Which is why the dose ramps

Providers start low and increase gradually to let the gut adapt. Your schedule is a clinical decision, revisited at every check-in — not a fixed protocol.

A simplified diagram, not a treatment plan. Individual response varies, and whether any of this applies to you is a decision your provider makes after reviewing your health.

How it works

Three steps, all online

  1. Tell us about your health

About five minutes. Your answers go to a licensed provider, not an algorithm.

  2. A licensed provider reviews

A clinician licensed in your state reads your history and decides what's appropriate — including when the answer is no.

  3. Start treatment, if prescribed

If it's right for you, you get a plan and the full cost before paying. Check-ins included.

Questions

Asked honestly, answered honestly

Will I definitely be prescribed medication?

No — and you should be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. A licensed provider reviews your health history and prescribes only if treatment is appropriate and safe for you. If it isn't, we'll tell you honestly and explain why.

Do I need to have tried dieting first?

Your provider will ask about what you've tried, because it informs the right plan — but there's no gatekeeping checklist. Eligibility is a clinical judgment made by the provider reviewing your actual history.

Is this a subscription?

Treatment plans are monthly and you can cancel anytime. You'll see the full cost before you're charged anything.
